Explains the indicator quick test from truu, with which suspended solids in water are made visible, as well as alternative methods for demonstration.

Functional description

One drop of the indicator liquid is used for tests up to 200 ml, whereby the indicator liquid slightly clouds the water to be tested. At the same time, the indicator binds all suspended solids in the water and causes them to flocculate. Depending on which substances are in the water, different "sculptures" are then formed. This reaction can be used as a quick test to very effectively visualize what is all in the water. Without the indicator, the suspended solids in the water are so finely distributed that they cannot be detected with the naked eye. The indicator test is suitable as a second test after measuring the mS (microsiemens) value. A high mS value means that there are plenty of suspended solids in the water. A low mS value initially only means that there are few electrically conductive substances in the water. Ideally, the mS value is below 90 mS. With the indicator test, even the non-electrically conductive substances can be made very visible.

Composition of the indicator liquid

The truu indicator was developed on the basis of an industrial soap. The exact composition is a trade secret that we do not publish. This secures us from a competition law perspective, because as a market leader, many competitors in the market look at truu and try, rather than conducting extensive and costly development work themselves, to copy and imitate us.

Alternatives to the indicator

The visualization of suspended solids in water does not always have to be carried out with the indicator liquid. Black or green tea offer themselves as an alternative. These do not bind the suspended solids as proactively as the indicator, yet the basic principle can still be demonstrated very well. Steep a cup of tea with tap water and one cup with truu original water. The difference becomes visible very quickly. Tea drinkers often thought that the streaks on the surface and the marks at the edge of the cup were from the tea. Very quickly, however, this test makes it clear that these are suspended solids in the water, because in truu original water there are neither streaks on the surface nor deposits and marks in the cup.

It's good.
