The article explains the scope of application of the Drinking Water Ordinance and why truu drinking water refinement systems are legally subject to food control regulations as utility devices. Additionally, all certifications and material standards of truu systems are listed.

Scope of application of the Drinking Water Ordinance

The Drinking Water Ordinance (TWVo) establishes the legal framework in the area of drinking water. In doing so, limit values are set for both the conductivity of drinking water and for certain ingredients. The scope of application is also clearly defined and extends to all devices or components that are directly connected to the public water supply network. These devices then also require approval according to DVGW for operation. The current version of the TWVo can be found at: xxxxxxxx

How does drinking water become food?

As described in the previous paragraph, the TWVO has a clearly defined scope of application. In §§§ it is therefore also clearly defined where the scope of application ends. §§ does not apply to…. Since truu's drinking water refinement is equipped with a certified backflow preventer that safely separates truu devices from the public water supply network, the TWVo does not apply here. truu drinking water refinement systems are therefore legally speaking so-called utility devices that are used for the production of food. Thus, truu devices are subject to food control and not to the TWVo. Good news then, because with processing by truu, tap water finally becomes food.

Safety comes first

Although we are not legally required to meet certain requirements and certifications, we still test and certify our components according to all standards and thus deliver far more than necessary, because safety simply comes first for us.

Fittings and water-conducting pipes of the cleaning unit are NSF certified and KTW and DVGW approved (worksheet W270 tested materials).

Only NSF certified high-tech membranes are used.

The refinement unit is manufactured from V4A stainless steel, which ensures that no hormone-active substances, plasticizers, or heavy metals are released into the water. This is stainless steel that is produced and processed in Germany. The pressure pipes are made from drawn stainless steel and not from welded stainless steel, as welded seams could also release substances into the water. Incidentally, the materials we use were also recommended by the Federal Environmental Office after material testing according to DIN EN 15664-1.

All water-conducting stainless steel hoses are DVGW approved and TÜV certified.

The bio-activated carbon used in the first refinement unit contains purely carbon-based, alkaline and acid-washed bio-activated carbon from the Netherlands. This complies with the drinking water standard DIN EN 12915 (European Standard, 2003). It is manufactured as part of a quality system that meets the requirements of CDX HACCP.

All seals are silicone seals and meet the highest FDA standard (Food and Drug Administration). Quality management for production has been certified by DEKRA according to ISO 9001:2001.

The NSF certified water stopper additionally secures every system.

Our production is located in Germany, Baden-Württemberg, each system is handmade piece by piece.

The truu drinking water refinement systems comply with all necessary national and EU regulations.

It's good.
to be truu.
